Can someone give me information about balsa wood gliders?
I need to make a balsa wood glider using balsa wood, glue, and clay. What shape or size should I make the wings or what I could do to the glider (maybe 2 wings) to make it stay in the air for as long as possible?
Go find a Hobby page or, better yet, a local Hobby Shop. They undoubtedly will have gliders hanging from the ceiling. Kits, even, and materials. For longest air time, I would suggest long wings, light weight, good dihedral (that is the angle the wings make with horizontal — they should be higher at the ends than at the fuselage), and a decent tail for stability. Lightest possible weight, though. And try to fly in a place that has no wind. Gyms are good for contests. Breezes are murder.
